While the Stitched Stories shop is full of 8″ in-the-hoop projects, we’ve also got smaller Stick & Stitch patterns that are easy to stitch and that look great in a smaller (3″ to 6″) hoop.
Stick and Stitch patterns are provided on an 8.5″x11″ sheet of sticky-backed washaway fabric. You peel away backing, stick onto your fabric, embroider, then wash the pattern away under running water.
The Squirrels pattern pack includes 3 different styles of Squirrles with 4 patterns (Icelandic Sweater Suirrel is repeated).
Each motif measures 4.75″ wide and 4″ hight. They are all printed onto one 8.5″ x 11″ piece of sticky-backed wash-away fabric.
This set of three Squirrels are quick to stitch and ideal for framing in a 6″ hoop and displaying or gifting just in time for fall.
Here’s another set of Stick & Stitch patterns for the holiday season: Merry Trees, There are 3 different motifs — Christmas tree shapes built around “MERRY” wordart.
You can stitch one up in an evening or two, pop into a 6″ hoop, and you’ve got decor for your own home or thoughtful handmade gifts for loved ones and holiday hosts.
Here’s a set of four floral bouquets that are each 4″ to 5″ high. All four are included in one pattern set: May Flowers. All of them fit nicely in a 6″ hoop. You could stitch directly to one layer of fabric OR stitch on white fabric then applique to patterned fabric. (See the how-tos for applique here.)
The Bunnies and Hens pattern sets each give you four projects that you could frame OR stuff into little companions.
