Oomph your holiday gift wrap with ornaments that can go on the tree once the packages are opened with the ideas below

If you need help making the ornaments, we’ve got that covered here: How to Make Embroidered Ornaments for Christmas. And we’ve got holiday ornament pattern packs also.

Read on to get inspiration for adding your finished embroidery pieces to gift wrap.

1. TIE ORNAMENTS TO GIFT-WRAPPED BOXES

A wreath and bright tree are stitched with the Joy Ornaments pattern pack. They make bold package accents.

Our brand new Flakes and Firs pattern gives you 29 motifs that you can stitch to felt or cotton. Finish in a small hoop or with layers of felt.

See here two little embroidered hoops tied to gifts. The one on the left was stitched to cotton and mounted in a 3″ bamboo hoop. The larger ornament was stitched to white felt and framed with a flexible faux-wood hoop. (Details on fabric and hoop selection are here.)

Here’s one more look at ornaments tied to packages. These come from our Bells and Balls ornament pattern pack. The ornaments are finished with extra backing layers of felt and blanket stitching around the edge. Again, see how-to details here.

2. WRAP SMALL GIFTS IN LITTLE DRAWSTRING BAGS

Another fun way to use little embroidered motifs (like the ones in our Flakes and Firs pattern pack) is to stich them to small muslin drawstring bags (available at Michaels, Joann Fabric, Amazon).

Fill your bags with candy or themed gifts. For stitchers, our scissors, wax, and needle minder will fit in a bag, and you can tie it to a hoop.

Another idea is to fill a bag with crinkle paper and a wine stopper then tie it to a bottle of wine.
