Let’s talk Satin Stitch. In this video learn about my best tips for this hand embroidery stitch:
- Work with 3 or even 4 strands of floss instead of the usual 2 that I recommend for our kits
- Find the longest point in your fill area and make a first stitch that defines the angle for all other satin stitches in this area.
- Make another stitch halfway between the stitch you just made and the edge of your shape. Be sure it has the same angle. (If it’s a big shape, keep halving until you’ve got several 1/2″ blocks to fill.
- Fill in between your guide stitches—and have fun.
Rainy Day is our newest embroidery kit and the boots are where you’ll earn your satin-stitch chops!
