Title card for blog post about fall embroidery projects.

It’s time for happy harvest-season stitching–your way

Because you’ve got your own embroidery preferences . . .

Because you want the option to add stitching to:

🍁 samplers

🍁 or linens

🍁 or totebags

🍁 or clothing . . .

Because sweater weather deserves cozy crafting projects . . .

. . . we’ve got fall designs in a variety of formats.

FALL FORMAT #1. In-the-hoop fall projects

Finished fall in-the-hoop embroidery projects hanging over decorated mantle.

This is where Stitched Stories started — with 8″ in-the-hoop designs. (the majority of in-the-hoop designs on the market are 6″ or smaller).

Our fall designs take you right through Thanksgiving–and give you motifs including owls, squirrels, pumpkins (and pumpkin pies), moths, spooky houses, and mushrooms.

Squirrels and Acorns (above) is brand new in the shop. It’s a joyful project to stitch and display.

Spooky House is for everyone who loves a design that’s Halloween-themed.

If you’re a forager who loves the things you’ll find in nature when the weather cools, try this one: Mushrooms.

Framed hand embroidery with mushrooms stitched in blackwork style.

Here’s another fall project for anyone who’s a fan of Halloween crafting and decor. Potions Pantry is a witch’s assortment of spooky elixirs.

FALL FORMAT #2. Stick and stitch motifs for fall

Ready to add fall motifs to your table linens or clothing? These little motifs are perfect.

or oak leaves and acorns on your table runner.

Stitch a trio of fun fall squirrels. I’m calling these (left to right):

  • Fall Weather Squirrel (spy the leaves and wind swirls)
  • Icelandic Sweater Squirrel (because of those banded patterns), and
  • Swirly Squirrel (lots of multi-color fur lines)
Embroidered squirrels in fall colors.

FALL FORMAT #3. Band Samplers

This is the format for you if you want to be creating heirloom-quality projects ready to frame in a standard 11″x14″ mat. We call them “band” samplers because they are styled like the traditional band samplers created a couple of hundred years ago–BUT with updated motifs.

Here are three of these designs: Home SamplerHoneybee Sampler, and Fall Squirrel Sampler.

3 framed hand embroidered samplers.

Fall Squirrel Sampler features fall poetry by Emily Bronte and incorporates oak leaves and acorns along with pumpkins and apple trees.

Let’s do this.

Let’s get a fall project into your hoop so that it’s ready to display in mid September.
